Neil Bonnett had given us 362 starts spread over an 18 season career. But he left us tragically on February 11th, 1994. While practicing for the Daytona 500 Neil`s car suddenly struck the 4th turn wall at 190 mph, causing severe head and internal injuries, leaving him unconcious a condition he never returned from.
Drivers following Neil on the track that day reported, it appeared that a gust of wind had triggered the accident .
In a service for Neil it was said, "Davey died coming to be with Neil, now Neil is going to be with Davey ".
