We all lost Davey tragically one July afternoon when the helicopter he was piloting suddenly crashed while trying to land at Talladega Speedway.  Davey was flying in to be with Neil Bonnett when Neil announced his come back to racing. It was reported that Neil was the one who pulled Davey`s body from the wreckage ! 

Davey won the ultimate race on July 13,1993
